Emergency contraception pill: how to access it
The emergency contraception (EC) pill (previously called the ‘morning after pill’) can be taken after condomless sex to help prevent an unintended pregnancy.

If you live in Liverpool, Knowsley, Cheshire East, Warrington and Halton, there are a number of way to access the emergency contraception pill:
- Axess sexual health: You can walk into most axess clinics under their emergency criteria if you require emergency contraception. - Pharmacies: Some pharmacies are contracted to provide emergency contraception. This option may be suitable for you in the instance that axess is closed. You can find a list of pharmacies which offer emergency contraception by clicking here on the area you live: Liverpool, Cheshire East, Warrington, Halton. Please ring the pharmacy you've chosen to attend before you turn up to make sure that a member of staff is available who can prescribe emergency contraception.
