New first-time smear appointments available
Featured story: Axess sexual health has opened new appointments for first-time cervical smears in Halton and Warrington. If you live in those areas and have been invited to get your smear for the first time, you now have more availability to choose from when selecting your smear appointment. Published October 2024.
Christmas opening times at axess sexual health
Bank holidays in December and January mean that clinic opening times at axess sexual health will differ from usual. 1 December each year marks World AIDS Day. It is a global awareness day uniting people in the fight against HIV and stigma. This World AIDS Day, we're encouraging people to smash the stigma by getting tested for HIV. Published November 2024.
A new axess 4 u clinic is opening in Warrington
The clinic opens on Tuesday 26 November and runs on Tuesdays between 3.30-6pm. Axess 4 u operates as a walk-in, meaning you do not require an appointment to be seen by our team. Published 31 October 2024.

Changes to our Liverpool walk-in service
Starting 6 January 2024, our Saturday emergency walk-in service in Liverpool is moving from The Beat to the Linda McCartney Centre.This means our walk-in service in Liverpool will be based at the Linda McCartney Centre (on the Liverpool Royal University Hospital Site) every day of the week except for Sunday, as axess is closed on Sundays in Liverpool. World AIDS Day takes place on 1 December. At axess sexual health, we've been encouraging you to #KnowYourStatus. We want to emphasise how simple and quick testing for HIV can be. However, it's important to recognise that ethnically minoritised communities may face barriers to testing. We must think about how healthcare workers can tackle these obstacles.
